Therapy You Don’t Dread Going To
Let’s Face It. No One Wants to Go to Therapy.
And it’s especially true for men. A lot of guys have had bad experiences with counseling in the past (especially in couple’s therapy). On top of that, 9 out of 10 licensed therapists are women, with a great deal of the male counselors tending to have a more femine point of view.
Men can often feel judged, ganged-up on, or forced to try to become someone they’re not when they go to therapy.
So they just don’t go.
We Get It. We’ve Been There Ourselves.
In fact, two of our most experienced male therapists met each other while working with the Wounded Warrior Project helping post 9/11 combat veterans. The issues that men face in life as well as the issues they face with many counseling efforts leaves them feeling worse off than before.
We want you to think about therapy with the same practical outlook as when you take your car into the shop. Some things just need someone with specific technical skills to help solve – and our area of expertise is people.
“I found that with depression, one of the most important things you could realize is that you’re not alone. You’re not the first to go through it; you’re not going to be the last to go through it.”
-Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
